In the Beginning
This site is a blog & a podcast, its a two-fer. I’m hoping that you’ll find the concepts that show up here are useful and encouraging. You can learn a lot about yourself by putting yourself out there on the line. I hope to discover all sorts of interesting things about me on this life’s journey and I hope that, if you join me, you learn a lot about yourself. While the focus of finances is is important in life, finances aren’t everything. This blog will talk about being smart with your money in a transparent way. I hope that by sharing about myself you find yourself drawn in to thinking about life holistically and find money to be part of that whole thought process.
My own history includes growing up in the household of a dad who was (and still is) a financial adviser. I learned a lot of concepts from him but haven’t always applied them. Since this year I’m turning thirty I figured it was time I figured out how to manage my money like a pro and I hope that you’ll join me in that education.
The first purpose of this site is to evaluate financial opportunities and to educate myself and my readers and listeners about those opportunities. Evaluating risks, rewards and different ideas.
The second purpose for this site is to directly allow readers to watch at least some, if not all, of my retirement plans and approaches. I’m letting you see, comment and learn about how I’m going about my retirement planning. You can watch along and learn as I learn. I suspect there will be mistakes on my part and you’ll get to see the zig-zag of financial growth. It should be a fun ride in the end because it’ll be honest and open.
I want to disclose that all advertising money made from this site will go directly into
- Paying for any needs this site has for maintenance and hosting
- Paying for expenses of interviews
- The rest goes into some sort of retirement investment
That’s it, its a very, very simple plan and I expect that I will have very few operating costs and I also expect that I won’t have many expenses for getting interviews, therefore advertising money will be thrown at retirement for the most part. Let me know what you think!
