Savings Throughout My House Part VIII: The Master Bedroom
Our master bedroom is small, calling it master seems a bit of an overstatement. However, its the room within which our bed lives and so, since we’re the owners, its a master bedroom. I guess that makes me the master of the house. Our master bedroom’s size and composition doesn’t give me a huge amount ot work with: there simply isn’t a lot that needs to be addressed that is different from the rest of the house:
I need to fix the number of slats in the blinds. This will allow the blinds to operate correctly and reduce some of the direct light & heat during the summers.
I’m going to check the heating register to confirm that it is pointing the right direction, away from the window.
I have no lamps in this room that can use CFLs, and I am unable to use them in the overheard fan/light unit without exposing the coils in such a way that the unit would look somewhat less aesthetic. The upside is that we don’t spend a lot of time in that room with the lights on because we tend to sleep with the lights off
